- The shaded cells must form one single line (as if drawn without lifting the pencil from the paper).

- The unshaded area must also be orthogonally connected.

- Shaded cells in each box must sum to 19.

- Green dots indicate cells where the number equals the number of surrounding cells that are shaded. All green dots are shown.

- Red dots indicate cells where the number equals the number of surrounding cells that are unshaded. All red dots are shown.

- The number outside the sudoku indicates the sum of the shaded cells in the diagonal.
