Rules:

Deconstructed Sudoku: There are nine sudoku regions in the grid, the locations of which must be deduced by the solver. A sudoku region is made up of orthogonally connected cells, containing the digits 1–9 once each. Regions cannot touch each other orthogonally. Among these sudoku cells, digits cannot repeat in the grid’s rows nor columns.

Fillomino: Divide the remaining cells in the grid into polyominoes so that no two polyominoes of the same size share an edge. Each fillomino cell contains a number equal to the size of its polyomino.

X-Sum Arrows: A cell containing an arrow is either a fillomino cell pointing directly to a sudoku cell or a sudoku cell pointing directly to a fillomino cell. If the arrow is in a fillomino cell, then the cell’s number equals the sum of the first x sudoku cells in that direction, where x is the number in the sudoku cell immediately after the arrow. If the arrow is in a sudoku cell, then the cell’s number equals the sum of the first x fillomino cells in that direction, where x is the number in the fillomino cell immediately after the arrow.

Beautifully constructed. No complicated logic was required, but familiarity with X-sums and decon logic is recommended. On the very lowest edge of 4-star difficulty.

Mesmerising! Starting from south west corner it flows so beautifully till the very last. Took a long time for me but I’m mighty pleased I was able to solve it finally without breaking it even once on the way. Four huge fillominoes and so much of gray real estate but it just falls in so amazingly! Thanks a lot for sharing.

A masterpiece indeed, one that requires the solver to switch tactics in the later stage - in ways only decon CC (or colossal) allows. In other words, the grid is not simply big, but features a diversity of logic that a smaller grids can't have - a truly qualitative difference.
