Intro

For this Hybrid Star Battle Series I will be sharing a new puzzle each week combining Star Battle with another puzzle genre. This week's genre is Falling Numbers (originally appeared as Falling Letters by Nikola Živanović). Please note that some of the rules of Falling Numbers/Letters aren't applicable here, since Star Battle's placement rules are more strict anyway, so I've only included the relevant bits in the instructions.

Though Falling Numbers is quite obscure, I find it fun, and hope you do too. I promise we'll have hybrids with more common genres soon!

Rules

Standard Star Battle and Falling Numbers rules apply, where all cells are filled with either stars or numbers.

• Star Battle: Place stars into some cells such that each region, row and column contains exactly 2 (1 in the example) stars. Stars may not touch one another, not even diagonally.
• Falling Numbers (partial ruleset, some of it doesn't apply): Fill the remaining cells with numbers, such that equal numbers cannot share a side (i.e. be orthogonally adjacent). Each outlined region must be filled in increasing order, starting with 1, from left to right and top to bottom.
• Note: for the answer check to pop up, you need only place numbers, stars, or shaded cells in the grid. As soon as one of these methods is complete, the others are implied, so you needn't fill them in unless you really want to :)
