Circled X-Sums

The Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- Circle/shade one cell in every row, column, and 3x3 box. These circled digits must contain each of the digits from 1 - 9 once each.
- [X-Sums Variant] The clues outside of the grid refer the sum of the first x digits from the direction of the clue, where x is the CIRCLED digit in that row or column.

I wasn’t familiar with x-sums before I attempted this puzzle and it took a while (and a bit of help) to understand the rules and it’s implications. Once understood, the logic was very beautiful and each deduction felt important and rewarding. Great puzzle!
Reply: Well, i'm glad you were able to make it through! You should definitely check out a few 'normal' X-sums too. Then I might recommend my Hidden X-Sums (#000AR0) Happy Puzzling!

Really enjoyed this one - some interesting deductions were possible from quite a minimal set of clues and there was a nice flow through the solve.
