Japanese Sum Battleship Cipher #1

(Eingestellt am 8. Januar 2023, 08:27 Uhr von wisty)

Fill each cell on the grid with a digit from 0-9 such that no digits repeat in any row or column. All digits 0-9 have been assigned a single letter from A-J to represent them. Clues inside the grid are given digits.

Place the battleships located below the grid so that ships do not touch each other orthogonally or diagonally, and any given digits match. Rotating ships is permitted.

Clues on the left and top sides of the grid are japanese sum clues. Cells containing battleship cells are shaded, and all other cells are unshaded. Clues on one side (top or left) give the sums of all groups of contiguous shaded cells in that row or column, with at least one unshaded cell separating them. Clues on the other side (top or left) give the sums of all groups of contiguous unshaded cells in that row or column, with at least one shaded cell separating them.

Double digit clues do not have leading 0s.

Clues to the right and below the grid are battleship clues, and count the number of battleship cells in that row or column.

The black dot separates digits with a 1:2 ratio.

Play this puzzle on Penpa+ (answer check is enabled with all digits in the grid, cipher table, and grey shading on battleship cells)

Thank you KNT for inspiration and testing!

Estimated difficulty is 4/5 depending on your familiarity with both battleship and japanese sums.

Clarified the standard jsums rule that double digit clues do not have leading 0's

Awesome puzzle. Very challenging (especially the start), but really cool logic.

I’m getting spoiled by these great japanese sum puzzles as of late. This was especially refreshing to me as it had consistent types of logic that I’m not super proficient in, which made exploring the puzzle a ton of fun. thanks :)
