Castle Wall / Yin-Yang #2 (13X13)

(Eingestellt am 27. Dezember 2022, 13:28 Uhr von MagnusJosefsson)

Regeln

Very cool puzzle, and a nice step up from the last one.
The minimalist grid was impressive, especially since everything was very well telegraphed and not actually as hard as it looked.
Had some very interesting interactions with the rules, and I liked that there was some kinds of logic used here that wasn't in the small one (and vise versa).

Code checking is killing me...

Wonderful puzzle! I really enjoyed solving it. So much new logic emerges in the process. I don't have much expirience, but this must be my favourite Castle Wall puzzle yet.

Amazing puzzle!

I love the many interactions with the central blanked region, I'll be keeping an eye out for more hollow puzzles like this. I feel like it also lets you make a bigger puzzle without it getting too monstrous or clue-heavy.

the kind of puzzles I enjoy the most - novel ruleset with a lot of surprising and funny implications, really fun puzzle and also very approachable

Very enjoyable and surprising puzzle! Some deductions that I didn't appreciate in the first puzzle were very useful here.

Wonderful! I learnt a lot of new characteristics of the ruleset in this puzzle. Also, I thought the steps were nicely telegraphed throughout, even if they weren't too easy to actually convert.

Thank you for your very kind words Mark, I'm really glad you liked the puzzle. /Magnus

Thank you so much for setting this. Mind-blowing puzzle!! The break-in is extraordinary and the solve full of amazing discoveries. One of my favourite puzzles

Thanks a lot for your wonderful comments Samish, I'm really glad you had that kind of experience with the puzzle! /Magnus

Aaaargh. I've tried the wrong version all the time. What is strange: I came to the intended solution several times, but the solution check never triggered.

A very nice puzzle anyway.

-----
I'm really sorry about that. I try to be very careful and have never posted a broken puzzle before, but somehow this went unnoticed despite several multiple solves during testing. I also wish there was some technical way to alert solvers who may have started the puzzle when a problem is discovered. Anyway, really strange about the solution check, it definitely worked for me. /Magnus

Very enjoyable puzzle! The minimalistic nature of the puzzle reveals its secrets as one understands the intricacies of the ruleset better.

Thank you Niverio! Really glad you liked it despite the problem with the initial posting. /Magnus

Fixed broken clue. The 6-clue in R5C2 was previously mistakenly a 5. My sincere apologies, somehow this passed all testing unnoticed. Thanks Niverio and polar for the heads up.

To be sure: If there are several arrows, the sums in all directions are counted together?
In the English rules it is said 'combined', so I think this is true, but in the German rules this is missing, so you can read it in several ways.
----
Yes, all directions added together. I'll try to revise the german translation. /Magnus

I would highly recommend solving the introductory puzzle (id=000CBD) before attempting this one. Otherwise, there is a risk that the break-in might feel a bit tricky. Following the break-in, the rest of the puzzle should be quite smooth given some previous experience of the ruleset.
