This puzzle is BRILLIANT.
Went fairly smoothly for me because I saw Clover's puzzle "Everest" on Cracking the Cryptic, but yeah this was pretty hard.

There was a step where I miscounted a tiny bit, which did not break the puzzle before long, so I had to restart and admire the beauty again ! Not bad :) Thanks.

It started rather easy and became brutally difficult (for me) around mid-solve, but remained super interesting the whole way. Thanks for the puzzle!
