## The Lonely White Dot

• Normal sudoku rules apply.
• Region Sum Lines - Digits on a line must have an equal sum within each region is passes through.
• Global Entropy - Every 2x2 square of cells must contain a low digit (1,2,3), middle digit (4,5,6) and high digit (7,8,9).
• Kropki - Numbers that appear in the cells with a white dot between must be consecutive.
• Numbers that appear in the cells with a black dot between must have a ratio of 2:1.

I'm always happy to see another setter coming up with a global entropy puzzle cause I love solving them.

Thanks for the puzzle! One very hard and long-winded deduction in the middle (which for the life of mine I couldn't find a way around), but otherwise very clear and elegant. I liked the surprising influence of the black Kropki dots the most.

Thanks for the kind words and solve. The black dots are there to help get you going, but the white dot was the big surprise for me. There does seem to be some flexibility in the order of the path as I observed during some test solving versus my own; some responded with 3.5, others much higher for difficulty. Either way, glad you enjoyed it.

I kept finding myself so close to understanding the intricacies of this puzzle but ultimately I had to resort to quite a bit of guessing and elimination.

Thanks for giving the puzzle a spin. This was tested thoroughly in Skunkworks, as well as my own tests, so a solve path was confirmed. However, there are many different type of deductions to get to the finish line. Sorry you found yourself resorting to guesswork, but I admire your tenacity to finish, no matter what. Appreciate the solve and feedback!

Ah, I hope you didn't take my comment disparagingly! I have no doubt that there is a logical path through. I just don't have the mind to find it. I could sense that there were some really intricate geometric dependencies; I just couldn't wrap my brain exactly around how they were operating.

No offense taken, I try to consider all criticism as constructive. But you are right, there are some odd equivalencies in this one, but I found them fascinating.
