Line of Sight (9x9 Chaos Construction)

(Published on 22. October 2022, 02:01 by ONeill)

I really enjoyed the ruleset used by KNT in his puzzles Ariadne and Orpheus so I had a go at making my own. This puzzle is on the easier side of things compared to those two, but I think it's harder than my other two puzzles. I hope you enjoy!

Rules:

1. Divide the grid into nine orthogonally connected regions, each containing nine cells.

2. Each row, column and region must contain the digits 1 to 9.

3. A digit in a clued cell indicates the number of cells seen in the indicated directions combined (including itself). Region borders obstruct vision.

The puzzle:

Penpa+: Line of Sight

Answer check is enabled with digits and green edges.

Solution code: Column 4 followed by Column 8

first of this kind that I did, amazing job! I loved how in the end you still need some beautiful logic.

You did catch the essence of that ruleset and made a very pleasant puzzle out of it. The logic between the clues at the beginning was really insteresting to explore.
