Killer Catalyst

Rules: Normal sudoku rules apply. Additionally, one digit is a 'catalyst.' This digit is to be determined by the solver. Any time this digit appears in a killer cage, it does not contribute its value to the sum, but instead doubles the sum of all the other digits in that cage. Digits cannot repeat in a cage.
For example, if '7' were the catalyst, then a [1 4 7] cage would display 10 ((1+4)x2), a [1 4 8] cage would display 13 (1+4+8), and a [7 9] cage would display 18 (9x2).

Incredibly fun and well-executed idea. No single piece of logic was insurmountable, but I definitely had to chip away at it very thoughtfully.

Thank you for this great puzzle, mnasti2! I found it very challenging, but it is such a pleasure to find out who the catalyst is. Solving was huge fun!
