Rules:

  • -Standard sudoku rules.
  • -Killer Cages: digits in a cage can't repeat and must sum to the total given in the cage's top left corner
  • -Little Killer: the clue outside the grid gives the sum of the digits along the indicated diagonal. These digits can repeat if allowed by other rules.
  • -Digits in orthogonally adjacent cells can't sum to 3,4 or 5
  • -1 and 9 can't be orthogonally adjacent, neither can 2 and 8, nor 3 and 7

Tricky break in, although not nearly as tough as the aspect of the grid+rules might let one think :)

I hope you will have a pleasant time solving it, please let me know! :)

Amazing! The puzzle flowed so astonishingly well for a grid that is so sparse. Like others, I found it very challenging, but the logic was so unique and interesting that it kept my full attention for >100 minutes lol. Thank you very much for setting and sharing :)

Absolutely brilliant puzzle. It doesn't look possible, and the layers of logic are astonishing. My 100th solve on LMD and definitely a puzzle worthy of the milestone.

I solved this puzzle with a bit of common sense, a dash of luck, loads of trial and error, and levels of tenacity bordering on insanity ...

... but I never did find the break-in. I made some guesses from the start. Intelligent guesses, sure, I did solve it, but still guesses. Those guesses made it possible for me to solve the puzzle, but I never found the logic of the break-in and I'd really like to know. Is there some place I can go to see or get a hint of how the break in is done?

Hi, sorry for the late answer and grats on managing to finish the puzzle :). I am going to post the intended break in in hidden comment, but you can also DM me via CTC discord (or directly Emphyrio#1238) for an explanation with screenshots if more clarity is needed :)

Thanks for the hidden comment. That is indeed beautiful. I figured out the first part of that and thought about some of the rest of it, but could not put it all together. I rather solved it by making 3 guesses based on (can't say here). The first was wrong and cost me loads of time, but told me something very important. The last two, which were inspired by the failed guess, both ended up being good and they lead to the correct solution.

Thanks for a very beautiful and very challenging puzzle.
