I Want To Ren My Bancycle

(Eingestellt am 19. September 2022, 20:27 Uhr von SirSchmoopy)

My last puzzle with a similar constraint was rather difficult, so I've made a new one which should be much more approachable. I'd appreaciate any feedback you have about the puzzle, and am happy to answer any questions you may have about the rules.

Standard Rules:

Normal Sudoku Rules Apply.

Normal Renban Rules apply. Digits along a pink line form a set of consecutive digits without repeats in any order.

Cycle Definitions:

Let a cycle be the path along a row in the grid formed by repeatedly going from a cell to the column indexed by that cell's digit.

Let the order of a cycle be the number of unique digits in a cycle.

For instance, if in a single row, C1's digit was a 5, C5's digit was a 9, and C9's digit was a 1, this would form an order 3 cycle (the 5 in column 1 points to column 5, the 9 in column 5 points to column 9, and the 1 in column 9 points back to column 1 where you began)

Cycle Rules:

Along with normal Renban rules, the orders of cycles along a Renban line form a set of consecutive digits without repeats in any order. Note that the set created by the orders along a purple line does not necessarily equal the set created by digits along a purple line. E.g. it is valid for a 2 digit purple line to have digits of 8 and 9 and have cycles with orders of 1 and 2.

Cages indicate a cell with a digit equal to the cell's order. For instance, if R8C9 was a 2, then the order of R8C9 would be 2 (and therefore R8C2 would have to be a 9 to make an order 2 cycle)

Example 6x6:

See the below solved 6x6 for an example of a valid puzzle with this same Renban cycle rule. Cycles are shaded for clarity.

For an example of the restriction imposed by cages, if R5C5 in the 6x6 had a cage, this would be valid, as the digit is 6, and it is part of an order 6 cycle. Similarly, it would be valid to put a cage around R4C6, as its digit is a 2 and it is part of an order 2 cycle,

Lösungscode: The digits Column 5 from top to bottom, and the digits in R9 from left to right (18 digits, no spaces)
