Friendly Ropes (11x11 Deconstruction)

(Eingestellt am 31. August 2022, 17:51 Uhr von purpl)

I held onto this puzzle for a long time because I was worried that people would be upset because the difficulty of the puzzle increases at one point in the solve path. However, I have decided it is worth publishing to show off this one cool idea that I built the whole puzzle around, but that just so happens to be harder than the rest of the puzzle.

If at one point you feel like you cannot make any progress, you just need to take a step back and think because you will appreciate it once you see it.

If you like Deconstruction puzzles, I recommend solving JayDyer's original puzzle, or her more recent Jörmungandr, and Jesper's puzzle among many other puzzles which are fantastic.

Rules:

Deconstruction Sudoku: Contained within the grid are nine non-overlapping 3x3 square regions, which must be located. Each region contains the digits 1 to 9 once each, such that no digit repeats in any row or column. Cells outside regions do not contain digits.

Within cages, the 'friendly' digits sum to the total given in the top left corner of the cage. Digits, friendly or not, may not repeat within a cage.

A friendly digit is one whose value is equal to the row or column or box number it is placed in.

Each grey cell is contained within a different box with numbering left to right then top to bottom.

Lösungscode: Row 2 followed by column 5 (left to right, top to bottom, replace empty cells with X). For example: 123XX456XXXXX789X123XX

Always a pleasure to do one of these deconstruction puzzles ! And it's funny how one can miss an obvious hint in a title :) I undestood this after I finished the puzzle and looked back at the title. Also, I actually had to take a step back during the later part of the solve to notice that important point that you mentioned. Thanks for this very fun puzzle !

I must say, I principally don't like construction puzzles with a very easy construction part (relative to the rest of the solve at least), but I liked this one in the end, even though I managed to fully appreciate it only after I finished it. thank you for this experience!

Penpa link had a random grey cell that shouldn't be there. Thanks Vebby!

Smooth solve for me, wonder which step is the supposed difficulty spike.
