Split Up Rainbow

(Eingestellt am 22. August 2022, 21:11 Uhr von Perladel)

Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Killer Cages: digits within a cage must sum to the number in the upper left corner.
XV: cells that share an edge with a V or an X must contain digits that sum to 5 and 10 respectively (no negative constraint).
Kropki pairs: a black dot indicates that the digits must be in a 1:2 ratio; a white dot indicates that the digits must be consecutive. Not all dots are given.
Disjoint XV-CAGES: if a combination that sums up to 5 or 10 appears in a cage, the same combination cannot appear in the XV clue (and viceversa). For example: if a 10 cage contains 1 and 9, those digits cannot stay in adiacent cells with an X on the common edge.

This was great fun. I always enjoy a coloring puzzle and this had some great logic in it. Thanks for sharing!

Love how I could do almost the whole thing with colours, before adding numbers at the last minute! Awesome puzzle

--That was exactly how it was intended. Thank you!

Very nice puzzle and a fun concept!
@tobymgk if anywhere in the puzzle you have a 1+9 separated by an X, then no 10 cage can be a 1+9 pair.

I’m not sure I understand the Disjoint XV Cages rule since I don’t see anywhere that rule would apply, the way I’m understanding it. So if a 10-cage has 1 and 9 in it, which X-cells can’t have 1 and 9 in them?
Is it any X-cells that touch that 10-cage?

-The adiacent cells are the ones crossed by the X clue. What I'm saying is that if you discover that a 10-cage is the sum of 1 and 9, none of the X clues can "create the sum of 10" by using 1 & 9 (it will be 28 or maybe 37 or maybe 46 but NOT 19)
