Fun fact: if you solve this puzzle with the clues summing to 402, you get the same solution path, except every number X would be replaced by 10-X. So 1's swap place with 9's, 4's with 6's, etc, and 5's remain in the same place.

What's funny about it all, is that it looks so hard, that the given difficulty gives the clue that the only thing you can think of doing will somehow resolve everything, so you can be amazed before even starting the puzzle.

Not being the greatest solver in the world (far from it) but having done a bunch of 1/2* puzzles, I've seen very few this good - well-telegraphed, yet super satisfying when it all falls into place. Glorious :) and like everyone else I have no idea how you did it xD

If someone gave me this kind of grid, and I only had ONE clue to deduce it, I'd ask them back "are you feeling too unusual today or something?", like what even is this, AND how did you manage to get this.
This puzzle left me confused, annoyed, excited, flabbergasted, confused again, discombobulated, entertained and laughing out loud at the end.
