Puquios

(Eingestellt am 13. August 2022, 16:12 Uhr von Samish)

Wiki : Puquios are ancient systems of subterranean aqueducts which allow water to be transported over long distances in hot dry climates without loss of much of the water to evaporation.

This is a small puzzle I made unassumingly, after I noticed a little trick that is to be used as a break-in. It should not require tedious pencilmarking, try to outsmart this grid !

Please check out my others puzzles here.
Ratings are appreciated and I'll be happy to read your comments !

Rules :

Put the digit 1 to 9 in each row an column exactly once. Additionally, each marked region must contain a set of consecutive digits (in any order). Digits along a thermometer must increase from the bulb.

Note : the conflict checker won't work properly and better be deactivated.

As a bonus, you can solve an easier version of this puzzle by slightly modifying the ruleset (not required for solution code) :
Ignore the two topmost thermometers (keep the one which bulb is in r5c3) and solve this puzzle under the anti-knight constraint (two digits separated by a chess knight move cannot be the same).

Lösungscode: First row.

I’m not sure I fully outsmarted the grid (I had to shamefully use some pencil marks)… but I’m definitely smarter having solved this! Brilliant discovery and very wild how this all resolves :)

Haha thank you very much ! It may be not the best phrasing X) but what I meant was that one should seek for the trick. It requires pencilmarks ofc, just... not tedious ones hopefully :D (I had 2 testers who almost filled the whole grid with options before putting a digit)

Nordy: Haha, it’s a fine phrase. I was trying to be playful :P nothing tedious at all! I am still working on improving my solving skills, so it still often feels like a grid outsmarts me, but in this case I’d say it was a tie :)
