Region Renbanmos

(Eingestellt am 2. August 2022, 06:08 Uhr von purpl)

The first puzzle I have mostly set on paper and pencil. I was a passenger in a 5 hour drive and figured why not try! I know that a few people had mentioned doing renban-type region sum lines and I wanted to try something like that. I had a break-in idea that used between line-type RSLs, but I didn't like that as much and realized I could do nearly the same idea with the puzzle you see here.

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Blue lines are like renban thermos (a consecutive ordered sequence), but instead of the digits along the line obeying this constraint it is the region sums that must form a consecutive ordered sequence.

As with normal region sum lines, the total is "re-set" when a line exits and re-enters a box (see example).

In the example image below the sums are 8-9-10-11 and they form a consecutive ordered sequence.

You do have a way of making very interesting things with a nice original ruleset and some clever way to use it, with some clean approchable deductions. Love the way that pairs pop up along the way and gets you some digits for free :) Thanks.

Really liked this one. I would say it was made more difficult for me at the start by missing the _consecutive_ part of the constraint.
