Heads or Tails 7x7

(Eingestellt am 20. Juli 2022, 13:47 Uhr von RockyRoer)

This is a fun little chaos construction rule set that I hope someone will build on. I'd love to see a 9x9 version with larger snake sections, or a 6x6 with a smaller head and larger tail... EDIT: Xenonetix has made a 9x9 version currently rated at 100%!

The Rules:

  1. Normal irregular sudoku rules apply - fill every row, column, and region with the numbers 1-7.
  2. [Heads or Tails Chaos Construction]Each region is a 7-cell long snake which does not touch itself. These snakes are made up of three parts: 3 cells representing a head, 1 center cell, and 3 cells making up the tail. Each clue in the grid is part of either a head or tail section and represent the sum of that head or tail section. No section contains more than one clue.

The Puzzle:

Absolutely fantastic puzzle. I would agree that it is probably only 2 star difficulty.

Enjoyed it throughout, for future solvers remember the snakes don't touch each other diagonally as well.Happy snaking :P

A lot of fun,but much easier than 3*, if you realize quickly what's at snake here.

Interesting looking puzzle. I assume a snake means a 1 cell wide path? Perhaps it would help to clarify whether not touching itself includes diagonally.

Reply: yes, a snake is a 1-cell wide path. The snakes are not allowed to touch themselves horizontally or diagonally. Therefore no 2x2 region can be entirely one snake.
