Chaotic Measures

(Eingestellt am 1. Mai 2022, 08:18 Uhr von Andrewsarchus)

Rules:
  • Normal Sudoku rules apply.
  • Regions are orthogonally connected and must be determined by the solver.
  • Rectangles/Squares:
    • Tall rectangles contain the height of the vertical run of cells in the column belonging to the same region.
    • Wide rectangles contain the width of the horizontal run of cells in the row belonging to the same region.
    • Squares indicate that the digit is the correct count for both the width of the horizontal run, and the height of the vertical run. For example, if the digit is a 3, then the height and width of the region's runs through that cell are both 3.
    • If a region has multiple runs in a given row or column, only the run containing the rectangle/square is counted.
    • All possible rectangles and squares are given.
  • Circles:
    • Blue circles count the number of cells including themselves in the surrounding 3x3 area which are part of the same region.
    • Orange circles count the number of cells in the surrounding 3x3 area which are NOT part of the same region.
    • The Yellow Circle (at r1c5) indicates that the digit is the correct count for both a blue circle and an orange circle. (i.e., the digit equals the number of surrounding cells in other regions, which also equals the number of cells (including itself) in the same region.
    • All possible circles have been given.

Brilliant puzzle, and a fascinating rule set. Took a while to wrap my head around it, but well worth the time spent. Thanks for setting, @ Andrewsarchus :)
