8x8 Chaos Construction: X-Sums

Normal 8x8 Chaos Construction rules apply. Place one of each digit 1-8 in every row, column, and region, but the regions must be determined by the solver. That is, divide the grid into 8 orthogonally connected groups of 8 cells.
Clues outside the grid are X-Sums clues. They show the sum of the first N digits from the direction of the clue, where N is the first digit seen in that direction. The first N digits are also all in the same region, and the N+1th digit is in a different region.
My previous two puzzles were admittedly quite difficult, so I hope this one is, while not a pushover, much simpler. Enjoy!

Neat puzzle, thanks. I liked how much region geometry pushed the solve forward. 8x8 is a fun grid size.
