Bittersweet Candies - A Regular 6x6 Sudoku Pack

(Eingestellt am 24. März 2022, 18:21 Uhr von Playmaker6174)

The following bag of goodies here is a normal 6x6 Sudoku pack including 6 small and cute looking puzzles with lots of interesting stuff in it and indeed, this one is inspired after my previous irregular 6x6 pack. I hope you enjoy!
(Let me know if I should adjust some tags or add more tags in this one)

Rules: Normal 6x6 Sudoku rules apply: every row, column and 3x2 box contains digits from 1 to 6 each once.

Variants included in this pack are: Consecutive clone, Little killer x X-sum, Remainder, Numbered room, Region sum line and Killer builder (Build your own killer).
As the pack goes on, the difficulty tends to increase (but not so much this time), this criteria may be different based on everyone's opinions. The overall estimated difficulty of entire pack is judged by the average of all 6 of them.

1) Consecutive clone : Cells that are in the same position of the clone (blue and red) must contain consecutive digits to each other. For example, if r1c5 is 3 then r5c1 will be 4 or 2.

2) Little killer x X-sum : Clues outside the grid are both little killer clues and X-sum clues. An outside clue shows the sum of digits in the cells along the indicated diagonal (digits can repeat if allowed by other rules), and also shows the sum of the first X cells in the corresponding direction of the row/column, where X is the value of the first cell.

3) Remainder Sudoku : A circle with a number in it that connects two cells shows the remainder when the bigger digit is divided by the smaller digit. For example, 5 and 2 will have 1 in the circle connected between them, since 5 divided by 2 is 2 as the result and **1 as the remainder**.

4) Numbered room : Clues outside the grid indicate the digit that has to be placed in the Nth cell in the corresponding direction, where N is the digit placed in the first cell. For example, if r2c1 is 5 then r2c5 has to be 4.

5) Region sum line : For each line in the grid, digits on the line have an equal sum N within each box it passes through. If a line passes through the same box more than once, each individual segment of such a line within that box sums to N separately.

6*) Killer Builder : A given one-cell cage is used to construct a real killer cage that starts from that cell and goes straight horizontally or vertically in the direction of the given arrow in it, the length of each cage is to be deduced (the limit one can reach to is the 6x6 grid borders); if no arrow is given then the direction is to be deduced. Once the cage is finished, digits within a cage sum to the small number written in that cage.
- If a red cage has the length of N cell[s] then that red cage must contain digit N (which can be anywhere within the cage).
- If a blue cage has the length of N cell[s] then that blue cage must not contain digit N.
Note: a cage can be one cell long, and some cages can overlap each other, regardless of their colors.

(For a bit harder version, solve the puzzle without the given 5)

Puzzle:

F-puzzle: ConsecClone - LKvsX-sum - Remainder - NumberedRoom - RegionSum - KillerBuilder

Penpa+: ConsecClone - LKvsX-sum - Remainder - NumberedRoom - RegionSum - KillerBuilder

CTC app: ConsecClone - LKvsX-sum - Remainder - NumberedRoom - RegionSum - KillerBuilder

Good luck and have fun solving!

Lösungscode: Four corners of the entire grid from each of the puzzle in the order, specifically (r1c1-r1c6-r6c1-r6c6) from each of the puzzle in the order in the rule set, 24 digits long total with no space

I really like this package, not GAS, but also not very hard. The last one seems to be a little bit harder, may be I didn't find the intended flow. Still funny to solve.

Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad to hear so! And yes, the last one is the most challenging out of all of them.

This was a great pack! One must be vigilant at all times, but the deductions are very fair indeed. Much to learn here! On reflection I would say the Numbered Rooms puzzle was my favorite.

Thank you very much for your nice words! I'm glad that you had great fun with the entire pack, especially the Numbered Room one :}

Overall a very fun set of puzzles! I really enjoyed how much logic was packed into each of the puzzles even though they were only 6x6 grids.

I really enjoyed the remainder puzzle in particular, it really clicked for me.

Based on my solve times the difficulty was (easiest to hardest) 1=2=3<5<4=6. It was a little hard to judge between 4 and 6 because I kept getting confused about the constraints while solving and having to backtrack. I'd say 1, 2, 3 and potentially 5 were 2 stars while 4 and 6 were 3 stars difficulty.
---
Thank you so much, and I'm glad to see you enjoy the juicy logics contained in each of the puzzle :)

Numbered Room isn't so hard but it can be quite confusing and lead to some unwanted mistakes; meanwhile Killer Builder actually requires solvers to stay conscious throughout the solve as anyone can fall into the trap easily without ever noticing that they missed something, so I decided to put it as the last one since it might ruin the overall fun experience if being put quite early on.

What a lovely set of puzzles! I'm always impressed at how even a 6x6 puzzle can have intricate logic, and to make 6 such puzzles is incredible.

I found the killer builder was to be the most tricky, but that's more so so from trying to keep the red vs blue constraints straight in my head and getting confused/thinking i broke the puzzle when i hadn't.

The logic for the numbered room puzzle was particularly amazing, and I love how some of the deductions played out.
---
Thank you for your lovely comment, I'm glad you really liked the cool deductions in the Numbered Room one and the rest of the pack as well :)

About the Killer Builder, it can be quite difficult to interpret the way the cages impact on each other and what some options of one cage will lead to, so it's always a good tip to visualize some options and be mindful if you're feeling unsure at some points as it's so easy to make mistakes A LOT.

A very enjoyable set of puzzles. My solving times from smallest to largest was 2-1-5-3-6-4. I think the numbered room puzzle was the most clever one and it took me much more time than the others. Also, the rule set for the remainder puzzle is very interesting. From the comments I can see that many other solvers found it interesting. I think you should think of constructing a 9x9 sudoku with that rule set.
---
Thank you very much for your feedback! I'm glad that you found a lot of fun throughout the pack, and I may consider making a 9x9 version with that remainder constraint in the future, although I think there're couple of times this constraint was used in some competitions in the past :)

That remainder puzzle is a work of art.

Thanks everyone for warm and lovely feedbacks! I'm proud of how this pack finally turned out, it's a really fun journey to make each constraint more interesting :}

Very nice collection! I especially enjoyed Remainder Sudoku (cool variant that I had not seen before) and Numbered Room! :^)

Fabulous! I especially loved the Remainder sudoku, what a fun ruleset :D

That was super fun, and especially very nice for me who tends to always gravitate towards the same kind of puzzles, so that got me to try a lot of new things, thank you so much for these!
I gotta say, whether fatigue or pure dumbness, I ended up spinning my wheels quite a bit on the Remainder one, but Piatato managed to kick me back into gear without spoiling it XD
