Embedded x-th sum

(Eingestellt am 27. Februar 2022, 07:50 Uhr von bigger)

The idea comes from Steve360. If you like this idea, you might enjoy the embedded x sum series by Aspartagcus.

Standard sudoku rules applies. Fill the grid with numbers from 1 to 9 so each digit occurs exactly once in every row, column and 3x3 box.

Arrows indicate an xth-sum clue, i.e. each digit in a cell from which an arrow is pointing indicates the sum of the x digit and the x-th digit in the direction of the arrow, where x is equal to the first number placed in that direction.

All arrows are given.

Well, it’s made a long time ago. I think it’s too easy. So I wait. Maybe year of embedded x-sum means more puzzles? I do see Aspartagus post more since he is the first to come up with this idea. I did have the idea of making a variant of the original embedded x sum a long time ago. 2020 is just litter with ideas. I think Old Miles told me at that time he can’t make it. Since I already got the hang of setting puzzles, time to check off the bucket list which just keeps growing longer and longer. It’s not my fault that I just happen to have some strange ideas.

Funny thing, I’m slowly finding my style. There is one variant that I know nobody but me dare to try. The setting is just hard and people would rather watch than actually solve it. Marcmees probably know that one. BTW, I already add making portal special puzzles on the list, special puzzles for setters and solvers, after I’m done with the number series. However, I have a little bit OCD. I can’t made another 9X9 with the same idea, and I auto wipe unsatisfied ideas out of my mind. So I really don’t know whether I would have enough ideas for the series. Anyway, why worried about future. There’re some backup ideas for special puzzles. I hope it won’t come to that.

Also, I accidentally set some hard puzzles, which you might see soon. So I kind of need to put some easy ones before I bring out the the big boys. I actually reach a point where I would forget a puzzle if I don’t post it.
