Suguru Chaos Deconstruction #3: Whispering Palindromes

(Eingestellt am 20. Februar 2022, 16:27 Uhr von mathpesto)

This puzzle is the third in a series, and I think it's harder than the other two, so I'd recommend first trying out "Suguru Chaos Deconstruction" and "Suguru Chaos Deconstruction #2: Kropki Edition". If you're stuck, check out the walkthrough of the solution below. Hope you enjoy!

Rules:

Fill some cells in the grid with the digits 1–9 such that no digit repeats in a row or column. Cells with a line or circle must have a digit in them.

Cells with a gray circle contain an odd digit. The sequence of digits on a gray line must read the same forwards as backwards. Adjacent digits on a green line have a difference of at least 5.

All digits must belong to a region, which is a collection of orthogonally connected cells. A region of size n contains the digits 1 through n once each. Regions may not touch each other orthogonally, although they may touch each other diagonally.

I'm a latecomer but have fallen in love with this series. :) This felt like the most hardwon victory. I love how the region-discovery phase was set up so much differently from the first two. Thank you for making these!

A real tough one, and a lot of fun to solve at the end :)

I thought I made a mistake bc I got a deadly pattern at the very end but it turns out the german whispers line on R3C9-R4C8 doesn't appear/is covered by the palindrome line on the CtC link

--------

@derKrampus: Thank you for pointing that out! It must've gotten messed up when CtC software made an update. I've provided a new link.

These are highly addictive. I've done four now and I think this was the hardest, but I got there via some very clever logic, thanks.

The suguru is becoming my favorite rule set. This one was like the other creations of Mathpesto simply brilliant and purely magical!

Fun, fun, fun. I didn't find it too difficult, but it did take me a bit longer than the first two puzzles in the series.

I actually found this one about as difficult as the second of your Suguru Chaos Deconstructions, but even more elegant. I really liked the role of the palindromes in this puzzle. Thanks a lot for setting it, mathpesto!

@Phistomefel: Thank you so much for solving another one of my puzzles and for your kind words! Be on the lookout for my fourth installment in the series soon ;-)

Clarified rules to explicitly state all digits must belong to a region.

I played this puzzle some time ago and wanted to leave a rating sooner but i had isues logging in. Anyways this puzzle just like the other 2 was fantastic although this one was way harder in my opinion and i even made a mistake along the way causing me to stress out if i would even be able to complete it. but aventually i did it yet a gain a nice puzzle

---------

@Jjesper, thank you! That means so much that you came back to leave a rating. And I'm glad you persevered and were able to solve it!

Great puzzle again! The logics are all reasonable; the most difficult part for me is to do scanning on this really large grid :p

Again, very nice and enjoyable puzzle! Definitely a bit more difficult than the first two, though I would personally say four stars rather than five.
