A Walk in the Black Forest

(Eingestellt am 9. September 2021, 09:00 Uhr von Bremster)

- Normal sudoku rules apply.

- Digits cannot repeat on the indicated diagonals.

- The lines on the grid are German Whispers lines. Adjacent digits on these lines must have a difference of at least 5.

I am sorry some of the diagonal line is hidden behind the German Whispers lines in the online solving tools, it's just the way they render.

Solve Video

While I don't feel this is a hard puzzle, I do believe in providing assistance for people who are new or might be having trouble figuring out how to solve a puzzle. To help them I have created a solve path video they can use to either get a rules explanation or to get assistance if they want it.

People who do not want any help should just ignore the video, unless after they have solved it they want to see how I still struggle with my own puzzles.

What great fun. It took a while for my brain to wrap around your concept, but once I did it was a smooth and exciting chain of logic. Thank you for a lovely and approachable puzzle.

Also, there's something wonky about the 7's and the 3's in this one. They're not quite in the right spots... ;)

BremSter: Thanks for the comment. Hearing it was approachable is exactly what I am after.
I don't understand the 3s and 7s comment.

You could use light gray surfaces instead of diagonal lines, they wouldn't be hidden.
