lighthouse Sudoku

(Eingestellt am 8. September 2021, 20:23 Uhr von bigger)

Standard sudoku rules applies. Fill the grid with numbers from 1 to 6 so no repeated digit in every row, column or region.

Label the position in each region from top left to bottom right with digit 1 to 6. top comes first then left.

Given digits also indicates its position in its region. All possible digits are given.

Draw 6 6-cell region. Good luck.

Now, not only all possible position digits are given, But Also all possible digits whose position has a difference of 1 with its value have been marked with a square.

The name lighthouse comes from Old Miles. He also make the remade version of the same puzzle because I make it with my cellphone’ s painter, not that formal. Think of the grid as an ocean. 6 countries, 6 regions, 6 different territorial waters. Within each territorial waters, there are lighthouses, for directions, which is what lighthouse for. I wasn’t think of the squares until Real Smile showed me what he did. But I really don’t like the small digit in the corner, too small. I add this 1 difference because it remind me of the floating buoy. It fits the story. So here it is.

As for the puzzle, I was thinking about how to change the most hateful, one of, for me, disjoint group into something interesting. Then I notice it seems disjoint group has never been combined with irregular/jigsaw. Disjoint group is all about same place in different region. All I have to think of is the way to identify the actual position in each region. Then I notice, maybe it doesn’t have to be a set of 1 to n, it can be the same, and it might be interesting. Spoiler, it sure is. Also, given digits has a negative restraint. I think this is the only one that can say, all possible digits are given, which is funny to say. BTW, you sure can imagine the shock I’m in when I saw what Real Smile did. I did not expect that big change of the rules. Now I have to make one, or this idea would have a Real Smile style.

As for the list. I just want to complain. Does new user know how to write a rule? First I saw all rules are compressed in a paragraph. Then, normal XXX rules applies, with no explanation. Then blatantly used phase, negative restraint applies. Then I saw a different way explaining an already there rules, like killer. I’m really wandering, do the new guys check other’s puzzles. You already set a puzzle, spend some more time with the presentation. And I saw people post two post one day, again. Remember the days I got warned for posting one per three days, those are good days. Also, I would be really pissed if anyone put chain and bifurcation together. If you have never learned it, don’t discredit it. I don’t think the setter has the power to ask the solver to solve in the setter’s way. Now I know when I'm not in a good mood, I just don't check the portal.

shaftless arrow(SenatorGronk),the final version of the rule is ok, but the previous one is really ticking me off.

psycho killer(Bremster), I hate disjoint group. I would be more scared if there’re only psycho killer cage.

Akari Sudoku(Ringo), puzzle hybrid, still I really don’t know why it’s so underrated. It’s not that hard.

river(Xailran), I did not expect it to be that easy. Very relaxing.

walls(Nordy), I really miss the days when consecutive dots are easy. Very enjoyable.

diff-sum line(XeonRisq),I don’t like little killer, but the rest is interesting.

mod sandwich(grkles),interesying rules. How did I break it too many times.

virtual cage(Steve360), to be honest, I wasn’t a fan of the rule, a little bit too much for me, too hard to check the whole grid for missing clues. It has potential, just curious to see what’s going to happen next.

Build samurai(filuta), if I can see this kind of puzzle once a week here, I would have the believe that there are still people making variant. It took a source and develop it, creating something that is different yet still has some shadow of the past. I can’t solve it because zoom in and out with cellphone is really hmmm

comment 2022:now that i think of it, this probably might be the only region drawing puzzles i will made for a long time. itš way to easy to made. i think i was using JS for painting. i ha to ask Old Miles to remade the puzzles again. and this year's WSC. lo and behold, something familiar. i guess i.m the only one who's brave or stupid enough to take it to jigsaw. kind of sad they take the safe route andd not the fun route. oh, and i don't like product to a prime. that's just lazy.

Lösungscode: column 5 of the first one then second one, with 0 as border(60120345)(12+digits), grid border doesn't count.

Two nice little puzzles, although the second one baffled me until the rules clarification, thanks (and also thanks for - once again - mentioning one of my puzzles).

Bigger: my bad for the rules. I don't think you should thank me for mentioning your puzzle for I don't get that much solve and I doubt people may check that far down. I just want to persuade myself that there are still new stuff on this portal. It's more like a solver's diary than a setter's showcase. Mentioning only means I like the idea and try to solve it. It's the least that I can do. It's not that time consuming as solving all the puzzles or developing one of others ideas, which I think is more supportive than simply mentioning. I hope I could do more, but it sure is the best that I can do at this moment.

In the second 6x6 puzzle, are all given digits indicating their positions in their respective region?

Edit: Never mind, the answer is YES! Thanks for the fun and easy mini puzzles :-)

Bigger:oops, my bad.
