Yeah a short stubby thermometer is the most useless kind.
This is what I think of as a disambiguating thermometer.
What if it wasn't?
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Every row, column, and 3x3 box must contain all digits from 1 to 9.
Thermo rule applies.
Digits along a thermo strictly increase from bulb to tip.

I marked this as 3-stars despite the fact it took <10 minutes. I spotted the break-in immediately (great use of the small thermo) and so it went quicker than I would have expected. Brilliant use of what is normally reserved for end-of-puzzle disambiguation.

So, please enlighten me why that two chubby thermo are not disambiguating thermo. i delt with them last, pretty disambiguating to me.

True, they disambiguate in the later part. But those are part of the symmetry of the puzzle. It's the other one that looks designed to break a deadly pattern.
