101 Bao (A skyscraper sandwich)

(Eingestellt am 4. Juli 2021, 02:47 Uhr von Farkov)

Normal sudoku rules apply.
Values outside the grid are both skyscraper clues *and* sandwich clues.
Sandwich rules: the values outside the grid are the sum of the digits sandwiched between 1 and 9 in that row or column.
Skyscraper rules: the values outside the grid indicate how many skyscrapers can be seen from that side. Taller skyscrapers hide the view of lower ones.
Example: valid rows for a value of '5' on the left side of the grid include 234795168 and 456812397.
There are no negative constraints.

All comments, ratings and feedback are very welcome and appreciated.

Hope you like :)

Hint:

If you're having trouble getting started try colouring the cells that can't be 1 or 9. You can get to the end of this puzzle just by using logic; bifurcation is unnecessary. If you're new to this type of puzzle, and would like to start with an easier example, check out my list.

Lösungscode: Row 5, column 3.

I find this one easier than the previous ones too (agree with 3 stars) - but in a good way. The sandwich and skyscraper logic was just as delicate (and difficult, and fun), but the remaining sudoku was much more straightforward. That's how a good puzzle should be: focus on the core logic and minimize tedious labor - or as Tyrgannus once emphasized in his setting video: "The solver should be rewarded for finding the logic."

Regarding the name of this puzzle: Does 101 stands for Taipei 101, and Bao for Chinese for hamburger? If so, why the Chinese theme?

@henrypijames
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. I'm thinking about putting a disclaimer about the rating on the next one, apparently my brain marches to a different beat sometimes :)

Regarding the name, I've been doing silly names for these that start with a building and finish with a local sandwich variety. But yeah, you picked it, Taipei 101 and they make a nice gua bao :)

Nice,The difficulty will not exceed three stars.

Hint is completely unnecessary:)

Thanks for the feedback. You seem to find these much easier than others. I'm thinking about making a very hard one just for you :)
