For all six puzzles, normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply. That is, each row, column and region outlined by thick lines in the grid must contain the digits 1 to 6 exactly once each. In addition, each puzzle has its own variant rule (see below).

Puzzle A - Thermometer sudoku

• Thermometer: a grey path indicates a thermometer. Digits in thermometers must increase from the bulb.

Puzzle B - Odd-even diamond sudoku

• If a cell contains a white diamond and is odd, all cells that are orthogonally adjacent to it are even. If a cell contains a white diamond and is even, all cells that are orthogonally adjacent to it are odd. All possible white diamonds are given.
• A black dot between two cells means that one of the digits in the cells is exactly double the other. Not all possible black dots are necessarily given.

Puzzle C - Anti-knight renban sudoku

• Renban lines: each line contains a set of consecutive, non-repeating digits, in any order.
• Anti-knight: cells that are a chess knight's move apart cannot contain the same digit.
• Fortress: the digit in the grey square at the top left must be greater than all of its orthogonal neighbors.

Puzzle D - Anti-king arrow sudoku

• Arrows: Digits along an arrow in the grid must sum to the digit in its circle.
• Anti-king (no-touch): Cells that are diagonally adjacent cannot contain the same digit.

Puzzle E - Killer sudoku

• Killer cages: an area surrounded by a dashed line is a 'killer cage'. Digits in a cage cannot repeat and sum to the number in the upper left corner.

• X-Sums: clues outside the grid are X-Sums. They represent the sum of the first X digits in the row or column where X is the first number along that row or column.
