Araf's Lunchbox (6x6)

(Eingestellt am 17. Juni 2021, 21:54 Uhr von udukos)

The inspiration for this puzzle comes from Phistomefel's Araf killer and Undar beyond's Lunchbox puzzles, both of which are brilliant. The rules have been taken from the above-mentioned puzzles.

Normal 6x6 Sudoku rules apply.
• The grid must be decomposed into different areas. Each cell belongs to exactly one area.
• Each area contains exactly two clues.
• Each area forms a 1 cell wide line that does not branch or touch itself orthogonally. The sum of the numbers sandwiched between the smallest number and the largest number on the line lies between the two clues. For example, if the clues for an area are 9 and 12, the sum of the numbers sandwiched between the smallest and the largest number, within that area, will be either 10 or 11.
• Digits may not repeat within an area.
• The -1 is given as a clue to account for zero as a possibility.

Here is a 5x5 example grid (each row and column contain all the numbers from 1 to 5). You can try it on penpa plus.

Here is a link to the 6x6 puzzle.

Good luck. Have fun.

Lovely puzzle! Found it quite tricky in places to figure out the next step and the interplay between the two rulesets, but it was very enjoyable indeed. Example puzzle definitely helped thanks!
