Living Off the Grid

Standard Sudoku Rules apply to the final numerical layout.

Sandwich Sudoku: Numbers outside the 9x9 grid (to be determined) indicate the sum of the digits between 1 and 9 in each given row or column. For this puzzle, sandwich totals can and will be referenced at both ends of the rows and columns. They are, of course, the same at each end.

Killer Sudoku: The numbers in cages on the puzzle sum to the total in the top left corner of the cage. Numbers within cages must not repeat. (See note on two-digit sandwich clues below.)

Arrow Sums: Numbers along an arrow sum to the number in the circle at the end of the arrow. Digits/numbers may repeat where allowed by Sudoku.

Thermometers: Numbers along a thermometer strictly increase from the bulb to the tip.

In all cases where a restraint moves outside the 9x9 grid, zeroes and two-digit sandwich numbers may apply within the restraint's rules. Two-digit numbers will count as whole numbers, not two separate digits; i.e., a Killer Cage with a 1, 7, and 9 on the grid does not rule out a 17 outside the grid, despite "17" having a 1 and a 7 in it.

Setter's Notes :: April 24, 2021 :: The only thing I will say is that during my test solves, because the sandwich totals are also involved in the other restraints, I kept forgetting that they do not affect the presence of all nine digits in the row. If a sandwich clue was a "6", for example, I kept thinking, "Okay, that row has its 6 already." No, no, no! - Standard Sudoku rules apply within the finished grid, no matter what restraints are playing around the edges. So, as a friend who wants you to have fun, I am pointing that out instead of letting you flounder into that same mistake yourself.

Lösungscode: Column 3, then Row 4.
