Face It!

(Eingestellt am 5. Februar 2021, 15:14 Uhr von Klomp)

Face it, i'm not a talented artist but with shy digits at least symmetrical palindrome puzzles like this become possible.

Normal Sudoku rules apply

Digits in gray circles have to be odd, those in gray squares have to be even

Palindrome rules apply, the digits have to read the same from either end.

But one of the digits is shy, for the palindrome it presents itself as the number of the box it is in, not as the digit itself.

Finding which digit is shy is part of the solve

Play on F-Puzzles (F-Puzzles will flag the palindromes as in error and will not stop the time)

Lösungscode: The digits of row 3 followed by the digits of column 8, 18 digits total.

I'm sorry about the confusion, how about:
One of the digits 1-9 is shy, when you read a palindrome you must read the box number instead of the value of the shy digit

I honestly thought i did a much better job making the clues work together than in my first puzzle. Admittedly the number of given digits invites starting with normal Sudoku but my intention was starting with identifying the shy digit

@Rollo it is not a shy digit for any other rules

I think the confusion for me came from the line: "But one of the digits is shy, for the palindrome it presents itself as the number of the box it is in, not as the digit itself.". It would have been clearer for me to say "But one of the digits is shy. Whenever it is on a palindrome it presents itself as the number of the box it is in , not as the digit itself"

Thank you, that helps.
So one digit is shy and ist is the same digit in the hole grid. It is a shy digit for the palindrome rule, but also for the other rules? That should be mentioned.
I will try in the evening.

@Rollo: One of the digits from 1 to 9 is "shy". It kind of behaves like a chameleon which camouflages in the box be behaving like the box number.
The palindrome in box 4 is fine if 3 was the shy digit (or chameleon).
The palindrome in box 6 is fine if 1 was the shy digit (or chameleon).
This shy/chameleon digit needs to be consistent. In your image, it is not. I hope that helps.

I understand this rule, that there is only one single digit to be replaced by the box number, so that the palindrome works. Not different digits as placeholder in each palindrome.

@rollo : once again i totally agree with you it is not clear at all about the shy digit.....

Perhaps I don't understand the rules. Can someone tell me, what's wrong with this solution: www.riasbraun.de/raetsel/5D6 L1.jpg

Disappointed about the number of given digits. Probably fewer given are possible but i can't manage, suggestions welcome.
