Fillomino Sudoku

Rules:

  1. Normal Sudoku rules apply for the digits 3, 4, and 5. You do not need to place any other digits.
  2. In addition, the grid is completely and uniquely covered with polyominos of size 3, 4, and 5. All digits are within a polyomino of their size, and all polyominos contain one or more of their corresponding digits. Polyominos of the same size cannot share an edge.

Your task is to solve the reduced Sudoku as well as figure out the tiling. Good luck, and please leave a comment and a rating if you manage to solve it!

Lösungscode: List the 3, 4, and 5 digits in order from rows 4 to 9, left to right.

Really great puzzle! Very challenging in my opinion, even after figuring out the general structure of the solution getting the details right was quite hard and slow going for me. But I persevered since I enjoyed it so much.

I updated the rules to include the constraint that every polyomino has its corresponding digit in it. This isn't necessary for the solve, kudos to everyone who solved it without. It does make the solve a bit smoother, and it's what I had in mind when setting, since in fillomino you fill the grid with the digits! I can undo this change to the rules if anyone feels strongly about it.

An excellent puzzle! Felt impossible to get going at first, until I started to focus on the right things. This is one of those puzzles where you can't get anywhere using trial and error, so you just have to think and figure it out.
