Yellow and Blue Make Green

(Eingestellt am 17. Juni 2020, 02:15 Uhr von Big Tiger)

Standard Sudoku Rules apply to the final numerical layout.

An artist took Yellow paint and applied it to a canvas starting on the left edge and moving across the canvas X distance, with X being the first number of each row. Then he took Blue paint and applied it from the top down, with X being the first number of each column. Wherever the two colors crossed, he ended up with a Green area.

Numbers on the side of the grid reveal the sums for each of the colors of that row or column: Yellow for places where the artist only applied yellow paint, blue for blue paint, and green for the crossing of yellow and blue. Unpainted squares are not listed in the sums.

Setter's Diary :: June 17, 2020 :: This one struck me Monday evening, and by Tuesday afternoon I had a working puzzle. In testing its logic for myself, it was a welcome relief from the "Battlefield" creations, ha ha, and I'm guessing an experienced solver will find it a harmless lark, so I'll start it at 2 stars.
