A Strange Sequence

(Eingestellt am 19. September 2010, 20:25 Uhr von zhergan)

All the numbers in the given sequence satisfies a rule. What must be the next three numbers in the following ascending sequence?

1 - 8 - 11 - 18 - 21 - 28 - 31 - 38 - 41 - 48 - 51 - 58 - 61 - 68 - 71 - 78 - ? - ? - ?

Hint: The missing three numbers are not 81, 88 and 91. It will be too easy otherwise. But it is still not too hard;)

Lösungscode: Enter the three missing numbers respectively.

Another "obvious" solution which is not accepted is 81,88,101. (Same as 81,88,91 but with base 9.)

Also a META label is placed under the puzzle.

Sehr leicht, aha. Toll.

I think, if the solution depends on the one who creates the puzzle and not on the "usual" or "common" rules of this kind of puzzle: you have to use the META-Label.

I think the solution IS 81, 88, 91.

If you have another solution in mind, you need to give at least one number that doesn't satisfy the obvious rule. For number sequences, the solution has to be the "simplest" rule that explains all the given numbers; if you arbitrarily forbid the simplest rule, the puzzle becomes in my view just random.

@uvo: Hi Ulrich,

You're right I forbid the "simplest" rule that explains all the given numbers. But I don't think so it is so inappropriate since I indicated that I have another rule other than the "simplest" rule in my mind in the puzzle text. I didn't give at least one number which doesn't satisfy the obvious rule (add 7 then add 3) because if I've done that my puzzle becomes much more simple (I also think that it is also simple with the current version). But I can say that the first one of the next three numbers definitely does not satisfy the "simplest" rule.

I am also giving this as another hint beside the Sprachkenntnisse 'Deutsch' benötigt label I've used previously. I also think that, this label averts this puzzle to be a random one.

The puzzle text is a little bit changed!

The fonts of the numbers in the sequence is decreased for better visual view.
