(Published on 31. October 2026, 23:31 by marty_sears)

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply.

LIAR CELLS: Every row, column and 3x3 box contains one liar cell, whose real value is different from its digit.

• Every liar cell contains a different digit from 1-9.
• Every liar cell has a different value from 1-9.

ZIPPER LINES: Two cells that are an equal distance from the central spot on a lavender line have values that sum to the value of that central spot.

X: If an X sits between two cells, their values sum to 10.

NOTES: In each pink arrow, enter the liar digit for its row, and in the circle to its right, write its real value.

Solution code: VALUES in column 6, reading downwards

Very nice!
Not as impossibly hard as Index Lies. Tricky, but always fair and logical.
The first deduction was easy. The second one stumped me for days, but when I finally found it, it was completely obvious and I should have spotted it immediately. After that, I made steady progress up to the quite tricky endgame.
For once, I agree with the 4 stars.

Great exercise in Test Your Assumptions, good life lesson ;)

Amazing puzzle as always. Took me 2 hours, most of it on the bottom rows (break in). Middle game and endgame were easier than the opening for me. Had so much fun with a pair of liars (I was sure something like that would be planted in a Marty puzzle).

Apparently, I found it harder than others. But it was huge fun once again. Thank you for this amazing series, Marty!
