This puzzle is inspired by the awesome serie of loop puzzles by yttrio. The idea of adding a layer of chaos construction to the loop constraints has been in the back of my mind for some time. I am currently making a larger version with the same ruleset. Until I publish it, enjoy this appetizer! Difficulty probably between 2 and 3.
The puzzle :
Rules :
- Chaos construction : Divide the grid into orthogonally connected 6-cell regions such that each cell is part of exactly one region. Fill the grid with digits 1-6 such that no digit repeats in any row, column or region.
- Whisper Loop : Draw a one-cell-wide loop of orthogonally connected cells. The loop may not touch itself, not even diagonally.
The loop visits each region exactly once.
The loop acts as a German Whispers line (i.e., adjacent digits on the loop must have a difference of at least 3).
- Arrow clues have a double purpose :
Digits in cells with arrows count how many loop cells are in the indicated directions combined (not including the cell itself).
Digits in cells with arrows also count how many cells are in the same region as that cell in the indicated directions combined (not including the cell itself). Region borders DO NOT block vision.
Solution code: Row 3, with hyphens (-) for region borders. (Example: 123-45-6)
