Schrödinger's Chaos(5x5)

(Published on 21. October 2026, 19:26 by PrissyP)

Welcome to Schrödinger's Chaos, a series of 8 puzzles, with two puzzles released each week on Wednesdays and Saturdays!

All puzzles are only 5×5, but don't underestimate them, the logic can still be challenging. Today's puzzle is an easy introduction to the ruleset.

Region building plays a major role in these puzzles, which can make them quite brainbending very quickly. If you ever need a small hint because you get stuck feel free to DM me on Discord(PrissyP0431). I hope you enjoy solving them as much as I enjoyed creating them!

Good luck, and prepare for some chaos!

Schrödinger’s Chaos Construction:

Divide the grid into 5 orthogonally connected regions. Every row, column and region contains the digits 1–6 exactly once.

Exactly one cell in each row and each column is a Schrödinger cell (S-cell) containing two different digits. Every S-cell belongs to two regions at once: one of its digits counts for the first region, the other digit for the second region.

Every region contains exactly two S-cells, so each region consists of four normal cells plus one digit from each of its two S-cells.

The value of a normal cell is its digit. The value of an S-cell is the sum of its two digits.

Clues:

Clues: A number in a cell is its value.

Coloured cells belong to the region of their colour.

Solution code: The digits of the region in Row 3, Column 3. Left to right, top to bottom(Only the correct digit of each S-Cell).

Very nice puzzle and interesting ruleset! Thank you!

The rules take away some of the basic chaos and sudoku assumptions so it took some time to realize even some trivial deductions. :)
