Highway to Hell

(Published on 13. October 2026, 06:22 by fish086)

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Cages sum to the value in the upper lefthand corner of the cage. Numbers may only appear once in each cage. Numbers along an arrow sum to the value shown in the circled cell. Every pair of consecutive cells along a parity line must contain an even and odd digit.

This is my first puzzle, so please let me know what you think!

If 2.5 difficulty were an option, that's where I would rate it.
I found that it maintained it's difficulty most of the way through -- the puzzle didn't roll over as soon as you find a break in.
Echo the visuals being a little hard to see.

Fun snack, very approachable.

If you are looking for more feedback, opinions on difficulty, etc, before publishing, the CTC discord generally has plenty of willing testers.

This flowed nicely, only criticism is that the visuals are quite cluttered, particularly with lines and arrows over the top of each other.

Nice puzzle! Not 4* but some parts are kind of tricky to notice. I'd give it 3* :)

Reduced the stated difficulty after feedback

Very nice puzzle and I think the first 4 star puzzle I have solved so I doubt it is as difficult as it is rated. Maybe should be 3 star difficulty instead?

Agree with the other commenter. This is a nice puzzle but it's 2*, not 4*.

I personally give it about two or three stars. The puzzle itself isn't one that requires a specific skill to solve, nor are the clues hidden in hard-to-find places that require intense scanning to discover. The speed at which numbers are presented is also quite fast, and the puzzle itself flows smoothly. Personally, I don't think it deserves four stars.

I appreciate it! Not sure if there's a way to reply directly. The solving method I had didn't really require the math on that cage at all, so it's interesting to see how other people approach the problem! I think so hard about the play through I'm doing, thinking about other potential pathways is definitely something to think about in the future! So easy when I'm making the puzzle to tunnel vision on the approach I'm thinking and intending

First puzzle post, fixing formatting on the post. Because this is my first puzzle, I'm not entirely sure how to determine the difficulty level as I was at least partially aware of the solution while I was going through the puzzle on final time myself, so any insight on that as well would be appreciated!
