For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a unique Sudoku variant every week.
Hitpoint Arrows
Inspiration for this type comes from damo_89. Solve online in Sudokupad.
I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.
Apply classic sudoku rules.
A digit on an arrow indicates the sum of all digits that are the correct number of steps away from that arrow.
For example, if the digits in the direction of an arrow were 32947 then the arrow would contain a 6 (2 + 4) because the 2 is 2 steps away, the 4 is 4 steps away, and all other digits are the wrong number of steps away.
Solution code: Row 5

Smooth and fun, thanks! Btw, I appreciate that the solution isn't embedded. I accidentally hit enter a couple of times while typing in numbers, and I am always annoyed when this results in the website telling me if I am on the right track. No spoilers this time! :)
