For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a unique Sudoku variant every week.
In the Shadows
Inspiration for this type comes from pmays123. Solve online in Sudokupad.
I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.
Apply classic sudoku rules.
Shade exactly one cell in each row, column and box. The digits in shaded cells must be all different. Shaded cells divide their row/column in two sets of digits on their left and right or above and below, both with their own sum.
Clues outside the grid indicate the relationships between the sums in the corresponding row or column from the side the clue is placed.
E.g. 4x indicates that sum before the shaded cell is four times as large as the sum behind it. +10 indicates that the sum before the shaded cell is 10 larger than the sum behind it.
Solution code: Column 4.
