This is the third puzzle of my crossword series, the first one was a bit clunky, the second one worked perfectly, but for this one, I chose a much simpler logic but did a crossover between two of cracking the cryptic's universes : sudoku and cryptic clues, so here's to Simon! I'm new to writing clues so I hope they make sense, in case you're stuck I put the answers at the end. I set the difficulty to easy because the sudoku is very easy after finding out the clues, so I don't know. Anyways Good luck !
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
No horizontal or vertical run of white squares (bounded by the grid border or red squares) has two consecutive digits next to each other in it.
Associate a unique letter with each digit so that you can solve the clues, translate the answers into digits, and fill the grid where indicated. Exactly one digit equals its letter's position in the alphabet (starting with A at 1).

Corrected the confusion : normal sudoku rules DO apply. Before, the regions didn't appear on the grid, which was a mistake. Sorry for that.

The introduction mentions sudoku, but the rules only say that rows and columns have no repeats. With only those conditions, there are multiple solutions (19, according to a solving program). But assuming it's really a sudoku, the solution becomes unique.
Except for that confusion, I enjoyed the puzzle. Thanks.

That's a mistake on my part, and I just corrected everything. Now the puzzle and the description say 'normal sudoku rules apply. I'm really happy you could spot it and solve the puzzle anyways and thank you for telling me !

I just spent the last three hours doing your puzzle thinking I had finished it until I noticed the official words you have in your clue bank don't match together for the sudoku.. D1 breaks D2, 4A, and 5A. the word I had for D1 instead which also makes sense for the clue can solve the puzzle with two different digit combos so I'm a little confused!

Your word is right, there was a typo in the solution, thanks for spotting and sorry for that. The double combo is normal, see if you can find a rule that would help you disambiguate!
