Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply, i.e. each Row, Column, and 3x3 Region has to contain the digits from 1 to 9 once each.
- Helping Cages: Digits in a cage must not repeat and no two cages may sum to the same total.
No cage sums to its own clue, but receives help from exactly one other cage. That is, the clue indicates the sum of the cage it is in plus the total of a helper cage, which is another cage to be determined by the solver.
Each cage helps exactly one other cage.
Cells outside the grid can be used for note-taking.
Here you can practice with a Little Beast and here you can solve the puzzle online:
Solution code: Row 5 from left to right (9 digits in total)

That was a proper mental workout! Very clever and I love the idea, even if it was by no means easy.

Thank you for your comment, The Pi Guy! In my mind, I gave it one extra star for the ruleset alone. :)
It is great to hear that you liked the variant.

Very nice and unique puzzle! The warm-up puzzle really helped me to adjust to the ruleset, and the 9x9 is very rewarding once you break in to the puzzle. Thank you for innovating this, sujoyku! (Maybe it could be used in future puzzles, who knows?) ;D

Thank you for your comment, Saltensity! I am glad that you found it to be rewarding. Also thanks for playing the 6x6 example puzzle! Probably, this ruleset works well with smaller grids because then you tend to need fewer of them and it requires less mental load. Anyhow, I am already looking forward to playing more with this ruleset one way or the other.

Awesome puzzle! Figuring out which cages paired with one another was a lot of fun. The killer Sudoku remained challenging afterwards. Well done!

Great puzzle, or actually 2 puzzles! Finding the cage totals was very interesting and fun on it's own, but the sudoku to finish the puzzle was a real challenge and quite exquisite. Thanks!

You are much welcome, Snookerfan, thank you for commenting! I am glad that you enjoyed both the variant and the sudoku for the finish.
