Flatirons Loop

(Published on 30. September 2026, 07:25 by lgastako)

Here's my latest puzzle. It's another easy tribute to the Colorado series. If you like the typical color+letter approach to these, it can certainly be solved that way, but it's designed such that you can skip the lettering and go straight to numbering. Or, if you're really hardcore, you can skip the coloring :) However you solve it, I hope you enjoy. As always, feedback is welcome and encouraged.

  • Normal Sudoku Rules: Fill each row, column, and 3x3 box with the digits 1-9 once each.
  • Black Kropkis: Digits in cells separated by a black dot have a 1:2 ratio.
  • X/V: Cells separated by X must sum to 10. Cells separated by V must sum to 5.

Play online using Sudokupad

Solution code: Column 8 from top to bottom.

Fun puzzle! Just one thing: can you mention in your rules if all X's and V's are given? (Same thing with Kropki dots). Other than that, great puzzle. Thanks for sharing.

Curious. I assumed this had to be solved with coloring, but coloring felt like overkill

Flatirons...are you perchance from Boulder, CO??
---
(lgastako): I lived in Boulder for a couple of years. Great city. But unfortunately I'm stuck on the east coat these days. I'm trying to name all of my Colorado-esque puzzles with Colorado-esque names :)

Nice and simple and quick! Took me an enjoyable 10 minutes, but with very little deduction. Would love to see a slightly harder version of this too :D
---
(lgastako): I'm working on harder Colorado-esque puzzles but it's harder to make harder puzzles that are still good. Will post them here when I can.
