Two Juzters and a Liar Somedoku

This is somedoku #27. Check out the rest of the puzzles in the somedoku series.

Play on Sudokupad

Rules:

Somedoku: Fill each cell with a digit from 1-6. Fill each row 'n' and column 'n' with exactly 'n' different digits, repeating digits as necessary.

Each of the following clue types appears exactly three times. Two instances of each clue type are juzter clues. A juzter clue is purely cosmetic and imposes no restrictions. The remaining instance of the clue must fulfill the corresponding rule below:

  • Given Digit: A digit in a cell is the digit in the cell.
  • Even: A cell with a gray square contains an even digit.
  • Odd: A cell with a gray circle contains an odd digit.
  • V: Cells separated by a V sum to 5.
  • X: Cells separated by an X sum to 10.
  • Consecutive: Cells separated by a white dot (w) are consecutive.
  • Ratio: Cells separated by a black dot (b) contain one digit that is double the other.
  • Parity Dot: Cells separated by a red parity dot (p) contain one even and one odd digit.
  • Nabner Dot: Cells separated by a yellow nabner dot (n) are neither consecutive nor the same.
  • Killer Cages: The digit in a cage is the same as the digit in the top left corner of the cage.
  • Arrow: The digit on the arrow is the same as the digit on the arrows bulb.
  • Renban: Digits along a pink line form a consecutive set that may appear in any order.

Great, now even my real clues are masquerading as Juzter clues!

If I'm understanding the rules, shouldn't the title be "Two Juzters and a Truth"?

Oh wait, I get it! The title contains three nouns. Two of those nouns are Juzters, so they are purely decorative. Only one of the nouns must describe the puzzle truthfully.

The noun "Liar" is a Juzter and can be disregarded. One of the two nouns "Juzter" is the true noun, and it tells us that at least one clue from every set is a Juzter. :)

bjf: I like the way you think, and I wish I could say I had given as much thought to this as that.

As it turns out this was set for a prompt where everyone was making Juzter puzzles. I submitted this with a line like "Juzters are now so popular that even my real clues are masquerading as Juzter clues." So, here the lie was that the real clue was actually a juzter clue. In hindsight that doesn't make it a very good title for broader distribution.

Had to be careful not to mistakenly mark a clue as wrogn, juzter clues are very tricky! Initial deduction was the hardest, but then the puzzle is smooth. Thank you, blackjackfitz! :)

Takes some getting used to not reading Jutzer clues as wrogn. Then the puzzle solves nicely. Thanks for sharing.
