For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a unique Sudoku variant every week.
Hitpoints
Inspiration for this type comes from tallcat. olve online in Sudokupad.
I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.
Apply classic sudoku rules.
Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of all digits in the corresponding row or column that equal their position number from that side.
Example: 42 | 213456789 | 5 since from the left all digits 3456789 equal their position number and from the right only the 5 is in place.
Solution code: Column 8

Almost identical experience to SimiC - 30 minutes of trying and failing to find a solid break-in, followed by the "aha!", and then about 20-25 to finish the solve. Great fun!

Thank you very much for creating and sharing another wonderful SVS-puzzle. For me this was much trickier than expected.- at least the break-in, which in the end turned out to be quite funny!

As someone who never played with this new rule before, I was stuck at the beginning for about 30 minutes. It took me a while to understand where I was supposed to look and the logic behind the rule. In the end the solve took about 55 minutes and it was very fun once I figured it out.
So I definitely recommend this as a good and fairly complex solve

Very fun and clever puzzle! The break-in is unique that I'm quite surprised I found it lol. Thank you Richard for setting the puzzle, and to tallcat for the initial innovation! :D
