  • Normal sudoku rules apply, along with these 5 extra rules.
  • Extra regions : if a cell contains a 5, then it forms with all its surrounding cells (orthogonally or diagonally) a region in which no digit can repeat, and this region is distinct from the 9 original regions.
  • Counting circles : a digit in a circle indicate how many times this digit appears in circles. A 5 may or may not appear in a circle.
  • Arrows : digits on an arrow attached to a circle sum to the digit in the circle, whether it's a 5 or not.
  • Fives rooms : a 5 outside the grid indicate that a 5 has to be placed in the Nth cell in the corresponding direction, where N is the digit placed in the first cell in that direction. All fives rooms are given.
  • Average 5 cages : the sum of the digits in a cage divided by their count is 5.

I think I made this harder than it needed to be. I wasn’t really sure what “All fives rooms are given” was supposed to mean, and I think the Average 5 cages rule is unnecessarily complicated, but still a fun puzzle. Thanks!

Thanks for your message ! I guess you found out why the negative fives rooms rule if you could finish the puzzle. The means cages is the only constraint I could find to discriminate the two last digits that would involve a 5 in some way. I could have put a kropki but I wanted to stay in the theme. Thanks for solving !

That was fun, Artham! 45 minutes for me, but I probably did too much sudoku because I kept forgetting about the extra regions rule. That did a lot of good work, and I really enjoyed the numbered room negative constraint. Thanks for sharing!
