This puzzle is the second puzzle in a series called "Cards on the table". You can click here to play the first puzzle. It is intended that you play the series in the correct order and engage with it's narrative along the way. Otherwise, you will not be able to reach the end. You can still play the puzzles in whatever order you'd like, and you don't have to understand the story to complete them, except for the finale. The story is delivered in halves, the first half being here on LMD, and the other half can be found by copying the pastebin link shown on Sudokupad when the puzzle is solved.

To Dakota,
Hey Kota, how are you doing lately? I think I've figured out why I haven't heard from you in a while (that, or you just hate me ;-;). I was using a scribe for the last few letters I had sent to you because of a hand injury, and I found he wasn't exactly being accurate when he was 'transcribing' what I was saying. I'm so sorry about his behaviour. Trust me when I say that the miscreant has been properly dealt with.
Speaking of our next meeting, I wanted to ask how you were feeling about the upcoming wedding. I know it's a lot of pressure, it's been a lot for me too. If I can be fully up front with you, I have a lot of conflicting feelings on the matter. On one hand, we're going to get our own section of the castle all to ourselves, with botanical gardens, marble pillars and halls we can decorate however we want. I'm excited about this new phase of independence, but at the same time, it all comes tied in with a new set of responsibilities. I'm quite confident I can handle all of this just fine, it's just a dramatic change.
What I'm more concerned about is how you will fare, being whisked away from your family and friends to live in an unfamiliar land. I couldn't imagine going through such a thing. You are very strong of course, and I don't doubt your tenacity, or rather, your ability to adapt to a new situation, but it's a big change for you as well, and I want you to know that I recognise that. I could tell during our last meeting that although you were trying your best to hide it, I know you're really not looking forward to this. I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to do my best to make things as comfortable as possible for you. I'm never going to force you to do anything you don't want to do, and I will try and adapt your living space to feel familiar and safe for you. Even if I have to go against the will of my parents or the will of the kingdom to make sure you're okay. They can all go to h***, frankly. Completing my duty to my kingdom is perhaps my most important priority, but I will make sure that your happiness will not be sacrificed for it.
At least for me, the silver lining of this is that we got to meet in the first place. It's been nice exchanging letters over the past few months. Hopefully I'm not going to be too annoying for you as your husband! Too bad though, looks like you're stuck with me 24/7 now mwahaha. Weirdly enough, I'm looking forward to the wedding. Yeah, there's going to be a lot of traditional ceremony bull**** but I'm sure with you there we can make it a lot of fun :). I hope to hear from you soon!
Best Wishes,
Skylar

Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Every run of 3 consecutive cells on an orange entropic line must contain a low digit (1, 2, or 3), a medium digit (4, 5, or 6) and a high digit (7, 8, or 9).
In a cell with a spade, cells that are a Chess knight's move away from the spade cannot contain a digit of the same entropy.
When a black dot sits between 2 cells, one digit is double the other. Not all spades or dots are necessarily given.

Beautiful coloring puzzle, had to remind myself the chess constraint was not global lol. Looking forward to the next puzzle and how the story continues! :)
Reply: @Saltensity YESS so true, non global knights move constraints are so interesting to mess with, more people should definitely pick up on it. Thanks for playing and your kind comments :>
