Wandering in the Fog

(Published yesterday, 20:58 by lgastako)

Here's another quick fog puzzle I made. I hope you enjoy it. As always, feedback is welcomed and encouraged.

  • Normal Sudoku Rules: Fill each row, column, and 3x3 box with the digits 1-9 once each.
  • White Kropkis/Black Kropkis: Digits in cells separated by a white dot are consecutive. Digits in cells separated by a black dot have a 1:2 ratio.
  • Killer Cages: Digits in cages must not repeat and must sum to the number in the upper left corner of the cage (if present).
  • Fog: Parts of the board are initially hidden. Entering correct digits will clear the fog in surrounding cells. No guessing is necessary.

Like. Easy doesn't mean that it is not nice.

I enjoyed the initial challenge of fighting the fog, and the flow was straightforward, which I appreciated. The logic, and the fog, made it pretty easy to find the next step.

I have a preference for puzzles that keep me thinking until the end; this one devolved into standard Sudoku around halfway through, which tends to bore me.

A negative constraint is a common way to keep things lively, but having never created a puzzle, I have no idea how much harder that would make your job.

puzzle was fun and straightforward, as the fog always guided where to see. The fog can also be used to make clues more challenging; hiding the cage sum or amount of cells in a killer clue.
