(Published on 17. August 2026, 18:23 by PrissyP)

Rules

Sudoku:

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Yin Yang:

Shade some cells such that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected, all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected, and no 2x2 area is fully shaded or fully unshaded.

Greatest Lines:

On each line, the value of every shaded cell is greater than the sum of any two unshaded cells on that line. There are always at least 1 shaded cell and 2 unshaded cells on every line.

amazing puzzle I feel like this would be a 5* for a person inexperienced with yy but luckily I have solved some of those. Thanks for my 3rd 4*

Congrats on solving it, YinYang definitely gets quite a lot easier when it's not the first one you are solving. It is still a tough puzzle, however.

Very nice puzzle with brilliant logic. For me it was on the easier side (3*) as I did some other yin yang sudoku recently. Enjoyed solving it a lot!

***
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed it so much, sometimes puzzles just click and feel easier than they are.

Brilliant puzzle! I already had some experience with YY & Greatest Lines, thus 3* for me. But without, this would be a 5* for sure.

***
Thank you. I agree, if you have not done some puzzles with those constraints it is very hard.

Brilliant puzzle! The ruleset was clear, but somehow I applied it wrong a few times. Midsolve I was drawn to a certain part of the grid, but the next step forward was in a very different part. That took me a while to find, my mistake. So no criticism, just a great puzzle, thanks!

***
I agreed that one step is a little hidden and it is not obvious how to continue at that time at all. I'm glad you still enjoyed the solve, even with the small hiccups. Thanks for the kind words.

Thank you very much for creating and sharing this wonderful YY-hybrid. These Greatest Lines offered some pretty fresh logic.

***
Setting with those Line was a Lot of fun. I'm glad you also enjoyed solving with them. Thank you!
