Scalar Multiplication

i'm back! again, this one came out a bit easier than i was after. the cages in box five are a little confusing because they overlap, i've tried to disambiguate that in the rules

Rules

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply
  • Digits in a cage cannot repeat, and sum to the total indicated in the top left (when given)
  • Cages of the same shape, size and orientation are scaled versions of eachother, each digit multiplied by a constant. Scaled digits are in the same relative positions between cages of the same shape, size and orientation. The scalar for a cage may be fractional, 1 or another number (as long as numbers in the cage are Sudoku digits).
  • N.B. box 5 (the middle box) has 3 cages, some of which share digits: A 9 cell cage (the entire box), the 3 cell cage and a 2 cell cage.

I like the idea of the variant, but do not see any need for clues that do nothing. :)

Sorry, I might be missing something crucial about the rules. But do the one-cell cages have any impact? They will always be some scalar multiple of one another if we are allowed to use fractions as the scalars, won't they?

they're just there to be confusing (and maybe to help disambiguate the cage rules...) :) but no, they do nothing!
